Brent crude price exceeded $ 66 per barrel
Oil prices of benchmark rises during the Asian session on Wednesday, including data on changes in US fuel stocks last week, according to MarketWatch.
The August futures for Brent crude on the London Stock Exchange ICE Futures at 8:07 Moscow time rose by $ 0.96 (1.48%) — to $ 66.01 per barrel. On Tuesday, their price rose by $ 0.19 (by 0.29%), reaching $ 65.05 a barrel at close.
WTI crude oil futures for August on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rise $ 1.12 (1.94%) in the morning to $ 58.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, following the results of the previous session, their price decreased by $ 0.07 (by 0.12%) and ended the day at $ 57.83.
The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported yesterday that oil reserves in the country over the past week have fallen by 7.55 million barrels. At the same time, gasoline inventories decreased by 3.2 million barrels, while distillates increased by 160 thousand barrels. The Institute receives information from operators of refineries, storage tanks and pipelines on a voluntary basis.
The US Department of Energy will publish official data on changes in the volume of fuel stocks in the country later on Wednesday. Analysts polled by S & P Global Platts, on average, expect a decrease in oil reserves by 2.8 million barrels, gasoline and distillates — by 1.1 million barrels.
The price of oil contracts at the Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE) on Wednesday increased by 1.7% — to 447.5 yuan per barrel.
